Alex Orr, Managing Director
Alex has been working in public affairs and PR from the womb, well since 1996 to be precise, and enjoys wearing tweed (not underpants!), on every occasion possible. His experience ranges from delivering Scotland’s first commercial gold mine, to working with clients in housing, utilities, health, energy and food and drink.
Alex Bruce, Director
Alex has always loved communications. In his time, he’s gone from learning foreign languages to being a Brussels-based political adviser, spent time as a car lobbyist in London before a PR career beckoned him back to Scotland. But that’s all biding time until the tortured songwriting career takes off!
Graeme Downie, Director
Graeme has been working in public affairs and PR since 2003 and, having recently started having to wear glasses, has decided he finally has that intellectual look he always aspired to. Having gained experience in sectors from food & drink to innovation to transport, housing and health, Graeme is concerned that his three-year old daughter will forever be confused as to what her dad actually does all day!
John Ayscough, Creative Director
John has worked in the design and advertising sector for over 20 years. He has art directed major projects for global brands, Scottish Government and latterly, some of Scotland's more ambitious charities. An artist, designer, published academic and agitator, John's work recently came to notoriety on the blog site Buzzfeed.
Heather Cumming, Senior Designer
Heather is a graduate of the Glasgow School of Art and a creative Graphic Designer with over ten years experience. Working as a Mid-weight Designer for the past eight years, Heather has worked with big Scottish brands including Paterson Arran and Scotmid Co-operative. With two toddlers, staying up late to party can be an effort but at leat once a week, an effort worth making. Who wants to grow up anyway!
Sally Trethewie, Account Manager
Sally joined Orbit after nearly 10 years in sunny Singapore, where she worked in public affairs at an international communications agency and the Australian government. She has experience in multiple sectors including education, transport, insurance property, and food and beverage. Sally is very much at home in Scotland, as she is originally from a place also known for its whisky, salmon, wild landscapes and wild people: Tasmania.
Sarah Mooney, Account Manager
After gaining a degree in journalism and creative writing, Sarah worked in digital marketing in the public sector before making the jump to PR agency life. Since then she’s used her creative skills for clients across sectors from food & drink to charity to tourism, and not forgetting a number of Scottish Government campaigns. A comms professional by day but a thespian by night, you’ll find her backstage in the theatre, not yet ready to give up her dream of winning an Olivier award!
Kiera Winfield, Designer
Kiera is a passionate Designer with pixel perfectionism. She has a love for Saul Bass, 80s films and 90s Hip-Hop. She believes in meaningful design with a strong idea and that it’s all about the concept. She can often be found cycling around Edinburgh pretending to know the rules of the road or in any establishment that allows her entry along the Cowgate.
Jordan Ferguson, Account Executive
Never one to blow his own trumpet or overstate his own importance, Jordan is well known as the most highly motivated communications professional to ever grace the PR and public affairs arena. Armed with outstanding media relations, stakeholder engagement and event management skills he takes a keen interest in Scottish politics and has been involved in the development of several high profile campaigns. He considers himself the most essential member of the team and some have even suggested that he is the very axis on which Orbit rotates.
Kyle McPartlin, Designer
After studying graphic design for six years in Edinburgh College and Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Kyle worked in editorial design for three years whilst working as a freelance designer for local businesses and brands across Scotland and beyond. He spends his time off trying to bribe a two year old into cooperating, taking photographs of buildings, documenting toilet graffiti into handmade zines and working alongside Edinburgh College on their mentorship programme.
James Fullarton, All things digital and SEO
After completing his degree in Fine Art James worked in photography before moving into marketing. James comes to Orbit with over 10 years experience in marketing, Search Engine Optimisation, and social media. James is a keen skier, making his way once a year to a snowy hill top for a week of R&R. Rescued dogs, horses and a good lunch keep him in the geek zone. Our genius in disguise.
Jilly Sinclair-Fullarton-Tisdale, Office Doggo
Woof, woof bark bark woof woof. Bark ruff woof, bark bark woof woof. Woof woof woof, woof woof.
Andrew Smith, Front End Developer
Andrew has been working with HTML and CSS since the very first days of the World Wide Web. In the mid 90’s Andrew taught website design to the first generation of geeks, many of whom have gone on to achieve great things. He has worked on large scale digital projects including MOD and Tescos.com and lately focusing on charities and non-profits.
Graphics Co-op, Digital Partners
Our very own digital partners Graphics Co-op, are simply ace! The company was formed over 20 years ago, at the very beginning of the World Wide Web. Now one of Scotland's leading small digital agencies, Graphics Co-op offer a wide range of services but at it's core lies the magic of solid, cost effective data base and front end development.
